Don't miss it! ~ Concours d'Elegance - June 18, 19 and 20, 2010 ~
![]() Nautical history has been written on Lake Tahoe's clear blue waters since the first wooden boat plied its waves and steamships first criss-crossed its shores in the 1800s. Over the years, wooden craft evolved, becoming faster, more streamlined and comfortable, and featuring trends reflecting popular culture worldwide. Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation celebrates this unique wooden craft in its annual Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance, to be held from June 18 to 20, 2010. The much-anticipated event will take place on Tahoe's North Shore in the marina of Sierra Boat Company in Carnelian Bay, Calif. The marque class for the 2010 Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance has been expanded to include fiberglass boats manufactured up until 1964. Additionally, the marque class will now consist of two subclasses, Transitional Fiberglass and Full Fiberglass. The Transitional Fiberglass subclass will include boats that are manufactured with wood hulls and fiberglass accessories such as fins, hard tops, or decking. The Full Fiberglass subclass will include boats manufactured primarily out of fiberglass. These changes are intended to include earlier examples of "Classic Glass" boats as well as create a more level platform for the marque boats to be judged. In addition to our Marque Class, the 2010 Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance will feature beautifully restored wooden boats from all makes, models, and years. It is our goal to have the best boats in the world for all to see in what has become North America's premier wooden boat show. For complete information click here. The Opening Ceremony and V.I.P. Preview Day is a sneak preview to be held Friday, June 18, 2010, beginning at 12 noon, and is open to the public. Ticket holders will be able to take part in an official “opening” of the three-day event with the opportunity to leisurely stroll the docks and preview the boats while they are being judged, as well as enjoy live music, hosted hors d'oeuvres, wine, and champagne. Friday’s ticket holders will also be treated to private rides on some of Tahoe’s most spectacular wooden boats. Tickets are $100, and sales will be limited to the first 500. The Concours d'Elegance continues on Saturday (9am - 4pm) and Sunday (9am - 3pm), June 19-20. Stroll the docks for an up close view of more than 100 antique and classic craft in North America's premier wooden boat show. Great food, live music, a full bar, and a variety of vendor booths compliment the showcase of antique boats. Ticket prices are $25 for one day, $30 for two days and go up $5 after May 15th.
